As a parent I have already placed the 3 AA batteries in it that is NOT included and played with it. There is a FOCUS on the blue flat end for the planets. Someone had mentioned it was fuzzy. I sold that one. As for the stars being fuzzy they were to far away from the wall, it may need to be closer.
The durability is great. We are going to be taking it camping with us as well so we can use the side of the camper to look at them. The orange legs are a great thickness for being moved side to side depending on if you are doing stars or planets.
I LOVE THE OFF BOTTON! This will make batteries last longer as well.
