A fun, complicated game, but surprisingly quick to learn.

A fun, complicated game, but surprisingly quick to learn.
Shadows of Brimstone is probably one of the most intimidating games I've played, mostly because when you open the box and see the hundreds of tokens, and dozens of different token types, and two rule books, it seems like a game that is almost unapproachable. But it really isn't. Once you get the phases of the turns down, it moves quick and gets dangerous very quickly. Alot of events, searching for items you'll need is balanced by ambushes by more monsters. In my experience, this game tends to not want to pull punches, and for every roaring success, you might find yourself fleeing back to town just as often, dragging wounded teammates back and hoping your town isn't too devestated by your loss.. What I will recommend, even though it gets pricey, is to probably pick up a couple monster expansions, because variety feels like it really helps this game rather than bloats it, especially since monsters like the night terrors, cropping up again and again, become really difficult, and having a variable difficulty of monsters allows you to play it more like a normal dungeon crawler, or tailor it with hard monsters and have a grudging dark souls-like challenge. Also, I will heartily recommend looking into solutions for storing the game, because there is just so much in the box and particularly with Token Storage. I recommend getting plastic quarter rolls, which I used for mine so you can separate your tokens, and have them on hand for wounds, dark stone, and the like. You still will need to find a spot for all the modular tiles, but it makes the base inset alot more cleaned up during play.

El mejor dungeon crawler cthulesco moderno. Las nuevas figuras de está versión son bonitas. Compra un buen pegamento pues requieren ensamblado (muy sencillo). Lo recomiendo junto con la expansión de pueblo fronterizo.
