    Images on Amazon of this product depict ailerons. The airframe is clearly designed for aileron servos and control linkages. The box even looks like it's designed for something with aelerons. The power train with gyro stabilization and tramsmitter come in similar sized airframes with 4 channels for the same price point.So discovering that this model was 3 channel in the initial unboxing was quite disappointing.However, this Ranger 600 3 -channel is quite appropriate for a 1st time flyer. Out of the 3 different models in this..."category" that I have flown (400mm P -51, 500mm Supercub, 600mm Ranger; all 1S lipo powered gyro stab RTFs) it is the only one whose "expert" flying mode is comfortable. "Expert" mode on these things simply means "gyro off" I.E. regular DIY flying. The Cub and the P -51 are so small and light that the gyro is kind of necessary if there is any air movement at all. This thing, however, is actually completely flyable with no gyro.The upshot is that, although I personally was less than enamoured with this model because it was not exactly what I thought I was going to get, and I personally don't need a "my 1st RC airplane", I can confidently say that this would be an excellent choice for someone who wants to find out if RC flying is for them. Out of these Top Flight/Volantex/Eachine single cell lipo gyro stab planes that I have tried, this is the one that goes from training wheels to no training wheels with ease; making it a great confidence builder to get to a hobby grade aircraft. Out of the 3 I have tried, this one is the least fun to fly for my son and I, but - again - we werent looking for a 1st plane, we were looking for more planes.Also worth noting that this Ranger's glide characteristics are far less..."glider-y" than the larger models with the same moniker and form. This turns out to be a good thing as the radio range on these planes is not great, there is no failsafe on the receiver, and the thing weighs 55g - less than 2 oz! - in the air, so catching thermals with it would not be a good way to continue owning the plane. If you already have RC experience, you will find this plane quite lackluster.If you have never done this before, you will find this plane to be a great introduction to the hobby.

    3.0 out of 5 stars Easy, simple and terrific fun!
    Reviewed in the United States on August 15, 2020
    Day 1: This was an instant hit with the family with my 12 and 7 year old.. Very easy to learn, very simple to fly, durable, and terrific fun. We liked that the plane is so easy and could take a few crash landings. We advanced within 10mins to expert mode. We definitely recommend buying extra batteries to make flying fun particularly as everyone will want a turn. Make sure u fly in a nice big field.

    Day 2 addition: Our second day was less successful. The plane on take-off nose dived on take-off release a couple of times and split the foam body and cowling. The claims of durability and unbreakability feel false - the idea that it would split and break so early on is disappointing particularly as a nose dive isn't really a high impact event and one that can happen often as you learn to fly the plane. We will try to stick it together but not what I had expected from a $99 RC :(

    5.0 out of 5 stars A Fantastic Flyer!
    Reviewed in Canada on May 7, 2021
    Okay, so I'm not a novice flyer, have been flying for a couple years, learned using a Hobby Zone Champ, but this little plane is fantastic. It flies incredibly well and can handle some good winds. I've been out flying in 12km/h winds and this little plane battled them very well.
    Granted I had the throttle up and full gyros on.

    Pros;
    Easy to learn to fly with. The 6-Axis Gyros are a life saver. You can get some altitude, flip to manual controls and do some aerial acrobatics, then flip back to beginner and back to a steady flying easy to handle plane.
    It's super lightweight, so well powered for its size. Being so small, makes a great park flyer.
    The plane can land on many different surfaces, from grass, to gravel to concrete and asphalt.
    The removable landing gear make the plane more nimble as it reduces drag and weight, the prop saver makes sure that if you have an oops with the ground, or another object, it has a less likelihood of breaking.

    Cons;
    There are a couple..
    The landing gear sometimes will come away from the plane in flight, dropping almost like little bombs down to the ground. It's funny when it happens.
    The controls can be pretty difficult in full manual mode, trimming it out isn't as easy as on my Flysky Remote, but we're talking completely different objects.

    All in all, for what you get and what you pay, you get a very very fun little flier! I highly recommend one. You can modify them to your hearts content if you'd like. Add an FPV camera and fly from the seat of your pants, so to speak. If you're looking for a fun park flier, then I highly recommend this little plane! A joy to fly for all ages!
